Why wrap a Tesla instead of respraying it?
Tesla offers only a short list of factory colours, so many Model Ys on the road look alike. A colour change is the easiest way to make one stand out. Respraying a new car is expensive, takes the car off the road for a long time and changes the original paint for good, which can hurt resale value.
A wrap does the opposite. The midnight purple sits on top of the factory white, which stays protected underneath. When the owner wants a change, or when the car is sold, the wrap can be removed and the original white is still there. Parts like the front bumper and spoiler were removed, cleaned and wrapped separately. The body panels were wrapped on the car, edges were trimmed by hand, and everything was refitted and checked at the end.
