The YU7 Max received window tint on every glass surface and a full ceramic coating on the paint, glass and trim.
Electric SUVs like the YU7 Max have large glass areas, including a big glass roof, which lets a lot of heat into the cabin. Tinting all of it and coating the paint from day one protects the car before Dubai sun and sand get to it.
Why protect a new EV with tint and ceramic coating?
This was one of the first Xiaomi YU7 Max SUVs in Dubai, and like any new electric car it faces two problems here from day one: heat and dust. A large glass area and a glass roof let a lot of solar heat into the cabin, which makes the air conditioning work harder in summer. Outside, fine dust and sand settle on the paint every day and turn regular washing into a chore.

Tint on the front, side and rear glass and the roof cuts heat and UV, while the ceramic coating on the paint, glass and trim gives a slick, glossy layer that helps dust and water slide off and makes washing far easier. How was the window tint fitted?
Each piece of film was heat-shaped on the outside of the glass, then fitted and squeegeed from inside the car.

How was the ceramic coating applied?
The paint was machine polished to a clean, glossy base, then the ceramic coating was applied panel by panel.

They do different jobs. A ceramic coating is a thin, hard, glossy layer that makes the car easier to clean and adds shine, but it does not stop stone chips. PPF is a thick, self healing film that takes chips, scratches and road rash. Many owners start with a coating, as on this YU7 Max, and add film on the front end later, or put a coating on top of film for the best of both.
